Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) is one of the Top IIMs in the country. IIM Bangalore was the third IIM to be established after IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta. IIM Banglore MBA Admission 2023 has begun with CAT registration. IIM Bangalore is accepting Applications for PhD and EMBA Program. The last date to apply for the same is December 12, 2022 and December 2, 2022 respectively. IIM Bangalore considers CAT score for MBA Admission and the candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria and meeting the minimum cutoff standards get an admission call for MBA Admission. As per the IIM Bangalore MBA Admission Policy 2022, the minimum cutoff required for admission is 85 percentile but the actual cutoff for IIM Bangalore stays somewhere around 99 percentile CAT Score. Further, candidates getting admission calls from IIM Bangalore need to appear for WAT and PI. After the flagship MBA program of  IIM Bangalore, the Executive MBA  program is the most sought after course. Admission to the course is based on GRE score. Last year, IIM Bangalore inducted around 73 students got enrolled in the course with an average work experience of 7 years and an average GMAT score of 690. For PGPEM and PGPPM, the institute also conducts IIMB Test whereas, for PGPBA, IIMB conducts a WAT round. IIM Bangalore MBA & MBA Business Analytics Admission 2023

IIM Bangalore offers courses in MBA and MBA Business Analytics  (MBA BA), a two year regular course, focuses on defining business and social challenges, use analytical tools and techniques to identify patterns, gain insights and develop business strategies.

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate marks 
• Final year students can also apply, provided they have to submit their final aggregate score CGPA/Percentage by June.
• Candidates must have a valid CAT/GMAT score.

IIM Bangalore MBA and MBA Business Analytics Selection Criteria

Admission to IIM-B is based on CAT score, academic profile, work experience and other parameters. The selection process is divided into 2 phases:

Phase I

• Shortlist is prepared according to the performance in the CAT. The table below shows sectional and overall CAT Cutoff as released by IIM Bangalore. Candidates need to meet this cutoff in order to get shortlisted.

Phase II The shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview.

• The final selection process is more opportunistic for non-engineers and experienced candidates.

• Final Selection Round for IIM Bangalore Admission comprises a Personal Interview followed by a Writing Ability Test.

After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIM Bangalore to successful candidates. 

• Category wise merit list will be generated based on weights awarded to various components. 
• The offer of admission to the candidate will be made strictly on the basis of merit/ rank list and availability of seats in each category (Gen, SC, ST, NC-OBC, EWS & DAP).

Offer Acceptance:

• All the shortlisted candidates will be informed to log in on Institute’s website by using their login credentials (User name & Password) and download offer letters for provisional admission.
• The qualified candidates must accept the offer within the stipulated date and must deposit the Offer Acceptance Amount (as mentioned in the Offer Letter) through the online payment link.
• A candidate may withdraw the OA within the withdrawal date specified in the Offer Letter (OL).
• A candidate desirous of being waitlisted for the final selection is required to pay a waitlist Willingness Amount of INR. 20000.

Reservation Policy

Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PwD candidates has been made according to the rules of Govt of India. 

• 15% of the seats for Scheduled Caste (SC)
• 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates
• 27% for Other Backward Classes candidates
• 10% for students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) 
• 5% for Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

IIM Bangalore offers MBA as its flagship program. The minimum cutoff for MBA Admission at IIM Bangalore is 85 percentile. However, candidates having a CAT Score of 99 percentile or more can expect a call from IIM Bangalore. Candidates can also check the CAT College Predictor based on their scores.
IIM Bangalore MBA cutoff is determined by factors like availability of seats in IIM Bangalore, Previous years’ cutoff, CAT 2021 difficulty level, category wise reservation criteria.

• IIM Bangalore MBA selection criteria consist of 2 phases wherein phase 1 candidates are selected on the basis of CAT Score and Academic Score. In the second phase or Final selection, candidates will be selected as per CAT score, Academics (Class 10th Score, Class 12th Score, Graduation Marks), Gender Diversity, and Work Experience and PI Score.
• The 1st stage of shortlisting in IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria awards 50% weight to Academics, 40% weight to CAT 2021 score, 8% weight to Work Experience and 2% to Gender Diversity.
• In the final shortlisting, 30% weightage has been assigned to Personal Interview(PI); 10% weight to Written Ability Test (WAT); 25% weight to CAT 2020 Score; 10% weight to Class 10 Marks; 5% weight to Class 12 marks; 10% weight to Bachelor’s degree marks and 10% weight to work experience.

• Applicants will be shortlisted for the personal interview based on their
  • CAT / GMAT / GRE / IIMB Test score, as chosen by the candidate
  • Academic performance, and 
  • Duration of work experience
• The selection process for the Executive program will be conducted in two rounds. Candidates can submit their applications during either of the two rounds.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The interview panel will consist of two faculty members of IIMB and an IIM-B alumnus.
• The expected GMAT score cut off for the 2022-23 batch is 690 for IIM Bangalore. 

IIM Bangalore has released its placement report for the PGP and PGPBA batch of 2022 and according to the report, 662 offers were made to 524 students by 137 recruiters. A total of 273 Pre-placement offers were made out of which 181 PPO’s were accepted. The Average Salary offered was INR 33.82 LPA whereas the Median Salary stood at INR 31.2 LPA.

The Institute has also released its placement report for the EPGP batch of 2022 and 30 companies participated in the placement drive and recruited 71 students. The maximum number of students were recruited by Accenture and the average CTC of INR 30.90 LPA was offered and median CTC stood at INR 30 LPA.

The placement drive engaged 137+ recruiters. Some of the top recruiters included Accenture Strategy, Amazon, Microsoft and many others.

IIM Bangalore has successfully completed the Summer Internship Placements for two-year full-time PGP and PGP-BA 2022-24 batch in two days. This summer, IIM Bangalore's largest batch of 529 students received 539 offers, the highest batch size ever. Recruiters such as BCG, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, TAS, Nestle, among others, participated in the placement process.
